Omega-3 – why oily fish is an important part of your diet

Omega-3 is an essential fatty acid that the body needs to obtain through food.

Among other things, it contributes to the normal function of the heart, and DHA contributes to maintaining normal brain function.

How much do you need?

The Swedish Food Agency recommends eating fish 2–3 times a week, preferably fatty fish.

Good sources

🐟 150 g salmon – approximately 3 grams of omega-3

🐟 Mackerel

🐟 Herring

🌰 Walnuts

🌱 Chia seeds

🌱 Flax seeds

The vegetarian options contain ALA, while fatty fish provides the marine fatty acids EPA and DHA.
